In 1822, near the German village of Klütz, a white stork was found alive with a two-and-a-half-foot African arrow driven clean through its neck. It had been shot on another continent — and flew home anyway. The Pfeilstorch, the “arrow-stork,” settled a mystery centuries old: it was the first hard proof that birds migrate.
We think writers are built the same way. You take the arrow — the rejection, the silence, the months of waiting — and you keep flying. Here, at least, the silence ends in 48 hours.
